It's good to know that other people and organisations are working along the same lines as your own organisation. It gives you a sense of solidarity and creates opportunities for a dialogue around the issues that you care most about.

When we think of the developing world we increasingly think of the horrendous stories of how we abuse our economic power to dump our unwanted goods in places remote from where we live and work. It's good to know that there are people over the world who are organising, thinking and acting in similar ways to us over similar issues.

Take, for example, the Institute for Zero Waste in Africa (IZWA). This is an organisation that one of our memebers had contacted and they sent back some useful information on what they are doing.
